Design inspiration
Illuminated by Chinese widespread ancient story BOYA & ZIQI, which is a touching story about music, and bosom friend. Our designer designs this series guitar and wishes that those who love playing music can meet their own soul mates in music, just like BOYA &ZIQI.
A story about soul mates in music——BOYA & ZIQI
In Warring State Period of ancient China, there was an outstanding musician called BOYA, and an ordinary woodcutter called ZIQI. BOYA was skilled in playing Chinese traditional musical instrument, Guqin. When playing music, he devoted all of his emotions to the music. However, his inner voice never had been heard by anybody until he met the woodcutter ZIQI in a forest. While listening to BOYA’s music, ZIQI felt the deep loneliness and great aspiration of BOYA. Moreover, he can even felt the high mountain and the flowing water outpouring from BOYA’s music.
The two became kindred spirit friend at their first sight. They chatted and drunk from day to night, and made appointment to meet each other the next autumn. ZIQI missed the appointment due to heavy illness and then passed away. When BOYA finally got this bad news, it was already three months later. He played his last piece in front of his only bosom friend ZIQI’s grave, and then sadly broke his Guqin and swore that he would not play music any longer.
The friendship between BOYA&ZIQI is so profound that people worship this story and is widely spread in China up to now.
